What’s New

What's Happening Now? At each of the four KeepSpace locations, the Comprehensive KeepSpace Community Design process is well underway. Partners in all four KeepSpace Communities are actively engaging members of the communities and other stakeholders in creating communities that include all of the KeepSpace elements: good homes; a healthy environment; strong commerce; sensible infrastructure; positive community impact; and integrated arts, recreation, culture and religion. An important part of KeepSpace is to listen to and respect everyone's ideas and concerns and ultimately find ways to create a community that is embraced by all and has a positive impact on everyone in it and around it.

As we work with stakeholder representatives from Cranston, Olneyville, Pawtucket/Central Falls and Westerly during the early stages of the Comprehensive KeepSpace Community Design process, we will finalize and post a list of key partners spearheading the engagement aspect of our efforts in each KeepSpace Community.

In each case, we are now forming “working groups," whose members vary based on the needs of each community. They are made up of representatives of key state agencies that have jurisdiction in the communities, community-based organizations, municipal staff, elected officials, business leaders and neighborhood residents. From infrastructure and public health to environmental and social impact, each community’s customized needs will be identified, discussed and planned for by members of the groups.
